A framework agreement among the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) of the United Nations and CERFE has been signed in January 2014. Through this agreement, WMO and CERFE seek to strengthen cooperation in some specific areas of mutual interest such as: social and environmental assessments/risk analysis; community participation/social actors involvement in flood management; social/popular knowledge and technical knowledge integration in flood management; capacity development on the above mentioned issues. CERFE has been working on these areas for 30 years carrying out specific projects in Central America, Sub-Saharan Africa, Bulgaria and Italy.
