CERFE’s COOPERATION WITH WMO
In the framework agreement among the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) of the United Nations and CERFE, Gabriele Quinti, CERFE’s director, participated in September 2016 in the annual meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Associated Program on Flood Management (APFM) and in the joint meeting of APFM with the Integrated Drought Management Program (IDMP). CERFE’s experts (Gabriele Quinti, Daniele Mezzana and others) contributed between 2014 and 2015 in the preparation of some APFM tools on: Crisis mapping and crowdsourcing; Organizing Community Participation for Flood Management; Public perception of flood risk and social impact assessment (this last one is already available at http://www.apfm.info/apfm-tool-no-25-on-public-perception-of-flood-risk-and-social-impact-assessment/ . Gabriele Quinti also cooperated between 2014 and 2015 to the WMO’s activities in Mexico on social vulnerability and citizens’ involvement in relation to drought and flood management and participated in these same years in the previous APFM advisory committee meetings.
